Vanaf het moment dat ik het boek in de winkel zag liggen riep het me. Na hem op meerdere plekken te hebben gezien heb ik hem gekocht ondanks dat hij in het Engels is en ik heb alles behalve spijt. Wat een fantastisch boek is dit. De Koreaanse cultuur en legendes die in het verhaal verwerkt zijn zijn leerzaam en interessant. Het verhaal grijpt je ferm bij de hand en laat je niet meer los tot op de laatste bladzijde. Je kunt merken dat de schrijver het met veel zorg op papier heeft gezet. In het begin voelt het wat cliche aan vanwege de middelbare school setting maar hier komt al snel verandering in. Vooral de band tussen Jihoon en zijn oma is iets wat mij erg geraakt heeft omdat het dicht bij huis komt. Het enige minpuntje wat ik kan benoemen is dat het verhaal afgesloten voelt, maar het volgens de epiloog toch een vervolg gaat krijgen. Ik hoop dat dit net zo goed is als het eerste deel. Helaas moeten we hier nog een jaar op wachten.
